In celebration of the contributions of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. the City of Columbus; Community Relations Commission is pleased to present its 6th Annual MLK Call for Artists.  In recognition of the legacy and service of Dr. King, students are asked to submit art resonant of this year’s theme Celebrate the Legacy: Rediscovering the Spirit.

MLK Civil Rights Heritage Tour 2014

The Ohio Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Commission in collaboration with the City of Columbus Community Relations Commission are sponsoring a bus trip April 2nd - April 6th 2013 to retrace the steps of Dr. King and other civil rights heroes.

The Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration

MLK CelebrationThe City of Columbus will host the Martin Luther King Celebration with many events in January 2013, including an Oratorical Contest Saturday, January 5th, and a ceremonial march and celebratory program at Veterans Memorial on Monday, January 21.  Special thanks to the Franklin County Commissioners for co-hosting this important event.

Yom Hashoah

Yom Hashoah

Known in Israel and abroad as Yom HaShoah and in English as Holocaust Remembrance Day, is observed as a day of commemoration for the approximately six million Jews who perished in the Holocaust. In Israel, it is a national memorial day. The City of Columbus has been observing this event for 24 years, as a means to honor the survivors and victims and to educate the community about the lessons of the Holocaust.
