Capital City Poverty Simulations

To this day, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. remains a keystone in the American Civil Rights Movement. His speeches motivated thousands of people from every walk of life to peacefully protest the forces that oppressed them. King worked through his final days to rally everyday Americans in the fight against the litany of injustices that he felt contributed to an unjust society, including poverty. The City of Columbus will host the Martin Luther King Celebration with many events in January 2013, including an Oratorical Contest Saturday January 5th, and a ceremonial march and celebratory program at Veterans Memorial on Monday January 21st.  Special thanks to the Franklin County Commissioners for co-hosting this important event.
